Cheap way to get children to cry。 (hide spoiler)] because this could have very easily have been another Ratburger where it would've just been depressing all the time。 As it is though, I had a lot of fun reading this。 。。。more

Ehkä hiukkasen liian pitkäksi venytetty, joskin mielenkiintoinen tarina。 Äänitehosteita olisi tekstin lomassa myös voinut olla hiukkasen vähemmän, ne tekivät lukemisesta paikoin työlästä。 Kuvitukset kiinnostavia ja hyvin tarinaan liittyviä。 Teoksen neljään osaan jakaminen tuntui ehkä hieman turhalta, muttei toisaalta kauheasti vaikuttanut lukemiseen。 3 tähteä。

AmazingAbsolutely amazing story。 Loved every minute of it。 Elsie was a good character and dotty definitely lived up to her name。 Just a nice fun book。

I know this is harsh but like if I was reading this at a younger age I would love it more but because I'm not that's why I think I didn't enjoy it as much as I should have。 I know this is harsh but like if I was reading this at a younger age I would love it more but because I'm not that's why I think I didn't enjoy it as much as I should have。 。。。more

this was such a shame, David Walliams never fails to exceed my expectations。 sadly this book just couldn’t ingage me at all。 i found it boring and more sinister than his usually funny, goofy and silly books。 this has to be one star。 disappointing。 :(

I ABSOLUTELY LOOOOOVED reading Ice Monster。 Multiple times shocking things happen and it practically turns the page for you。

LÄPS! JUU-HUU! BUBUM! TUMPS!Sivuja kirjassa on huimat 477, mutta heikomman lukijan ei kannata säikähtää。 Tony Rossin kuvitus on isossa roolissa, ja fonttikokokin on suurenlainen。Vaikka kirjassa tavataan kuningatar Viktoria ja muutamia muitakin oikeasti eläneitä henkilöitä, on maailma enemmän tai vähemmän vaihtoehtohistoriallinen。 Lopusta löytyvässä liitteessä anakronismeja kyllä selitellään, mutta minusta on vähän löysää kirjoittamista sijoittaa tarinaan HMS Victory (oikeasti Portsmouthissa) tai zeppeliini (keksittiin myöhemmin)。 Lapsia tuskin moinen vaivaa。 。。。more

Not my favourite but I did enjoy this book。 I’m pretty sure I got this for Christmas in 2019 and read it in mid 2020。 I’m not going to lie it took me a while to get into but I ended up finishing this with a smile。I really like Elsie she’s a charismatic, cool, funny, curious and fun character and her love for the mammoth warms my heart。Not much else to say, it’s a good read just not my favourite。 Can be kinda intense which is super cool。

Quite a nice book, but not as great as all of the other David Walliams books。The story is a good one, but the reason I don't like it that much is because there are a lot of characters in the story。 All of them have introductions, but then they don't get included in the story much, for example the Sticky Fingers Gang, where each of the gang members get introduced one by one, but I feel there is too many of them and they don't get included a lot at all。But the storyline is interesting。 I liked how Quite a nice book, but not as great as all of the other David Walliams books。The story is a good one, but the reason I don't like it that much is because there are a lot of characters in the story。 All of them have introductions, but then they don't get included in the story much, for example the Sticky Fingers Gang, where each of the gang members get introduced one by one, but I feel there is too many of them and they don't get included a lot at all。But the storyline is interesting。 I liked how Elsie has to trust the professor (who is not as trustworthy as you think he may be) and I like Dotty with her funny personality。 Wooly the mammoth is funny when she goes on 'skates' as well。It wasn't bad。 I do prefer the other Walliams books but overall, I did like it。 。。。more

FabulousSuch a fantastic story and so very English。 Great imagination and such a great ending。 Perfect for all children especially those who want a taste of English life in the Victorian period。

I think this is a really adventurous book and there are lots of ships involved in the middle and the ending part of the book but what really suprised me was and i don’t just mean ordinarily i mean extremely was the accending order between living in a orphanage and eating bugs to suddenly living in the bucking ham palace that’s just a miracle so dreamy。 Everything was just so mind blowing。 And this book is such a page-turner (Alsinyo 10yo)

A fun book for kids (and adults) to read and enjoy。 It has:orphaned girlwooly mammoththe articVictorian Englandfriendsand heroes。How can it not be good?David Walliams is a great writer who makes reading fun and is not too heavy on teaching life lessons。The life lessons are just there。I really enjoyed this book。

I really liked this book。 The 500 pages of the book were filled with mystery, jokes and love。 I recommend it for native english speakers with the age between 8 and 12 and for bilingual people with the age 10 to 14。 The book in a way is about belonging, finding your way in a difficult and unpredictable world, it's about family and fighting for what you believe is right and honorable。 I really liked this book。 The 500 pages of the book were filled with mystery, jokes and love。 I recommend it for native english speakers with the age between 8 and 12 and for bilingual people with the age 10 to 14。 The book in a way is about belonging, finding your way in a difficult and unpredictable world, it's about family and fighting for what you believe is right and honorable。 。。。more
